DRACULA
This October, BATS will live up to its name, and perform a gothic classic to open the new theatre season: ?“Dracula” needs no introduction.
Written by Bram Stoker in 1897, the novel created characters which were quickly entrenched in our collective memories and served as a rich base for countless adaptations in a variety of media.
Steven Dietz adapted the novel with a deep sense of respect for the original work, making sure the atmosphere and suspense were kept intact and translated to the stage.
And although “Dracula” has seen its fair share of reboots, re-imaginings and re-writings, Bats took up the challenge to perform this work as intended: a gothic horror story filled with shivers, chills and frights. In short, you won’t find brooding vampires contemplating the nature of being, but a fierce quest to find and vanquish the ruler of the undead, Nosferatu, and his minions. The battle for humanity’s soul begins in October.
We've included a special Halloween Performance on 31st October - Shudder!
